One Fife-based team handles the survey, the installation and the aftercare — for homes, offices and food businesses across Scotland.
Survey first, specify second. Every system is sized to the building rather than picked from a catalogue.
F-Gas registered engineers, brazed and pressure-tested pipework, and full commissioning records on handover.
Planned maintenance that protects warranties, efficiency and — for commercial sites — tenant comfort.
Split and multi-split systems for bedrooms, home offices and loft conversions.
Offices, retail and serviced office floors running split and VRF plant.
Cold rooms, chillers, display cabinets and cellar cooling across Scotland.
Domestic and commercial systems designed, installed and maintained by one Scottish team.
Quiet, efficient wall-mounted air conditioning installed properly the first time, with heating in the colder months included as standard.
Cool and heat several rooms from a single outdoor condenser, with independent control in every space and only one unit on the outside wall.
Annual servicing that keeps your system efficient, quiet and covered by its manufacturer warranty, plus repairs on systems installed by anyone.
Air conditioning for offices, shops, salons, server rooms and hospitality venues, designed around your operating hours and installed with minimal disruption.
Design, installation and planned maintenance of VRF and VRV systems for multi-zone offices, serviced workspace and mixed-use buildings.
Bespoke home wine cellars, walk-in pantries, and domestic cold storage — expertly installed, serviced, and maintained using quiet, high-efficiency Daikin cooling technology to protect your finest vintages and perishable stock.
Tell us about your property and we will arrange a survey at a time that suits you.
Thistle Climate designs, installs, services and repairs air conditioning and refrigeration for homes and businesses throughout Scotland. We are based in Fife, work extensively across Edinburgh and the Lothians, and travel nationwide for commercial contracts. Whether it is a single bedroom that becomes unbearable in July, a serviced office floor with dozens of indoor units, or a cold room holding a kitchen’s entire stock, the same team handles the survey, the installation and the aftercare.
Our domestic work centres on split and multi-split systems: quiet wall-mounted units that cool and dehumidify in summer and, because every system we fit is a heat pump, heat a room efficiently in the colder months. Homeowners regularly tell us the heating side surprised them most, because running one indoor unit in a home office is far cheaper than firing up central heating for the whole house in October.
On the commercial side we install and maintain split systems, VRF and VRV plant, and commercial refrigeration. We maintain VRF systems for serviced office operators including IWG (Regus) and Clockwise, where tenant comfort is part of the product being sold and a reactive approach simply does not work. That experience shapes how we design new systems: sensible zoning, controls that people can actually use, and plant that can be maintained without closing a floor.
Every engineer is F-Gas registered, which is a legal requirement for anyone handling refrigerant, and every job leaves with proper commissioning records. We specify equipment from established manufacturers whose spares and technical support are dependable in the UK rather than whatever is cheapest that month, because the cost of a system is what you pay over fifteen years, not what appears on the first invoice.
Survey, design, installation, commissioning and planned maintenance handled by the same Fife-based engineers.
It starts with a conversation and a survey. We measure rooms, calculate heat loads, look at glazing, insulation, occupancy and equipment, and agree unit positions and pipe routes with you before anything is priced. On commercial projects we also work through access, permits, out-of-hours programming and coordination with other trades so the installation does not interrupt trading.
Installation is carried out by our own engineers, with proper site protection, brazed and pressure-tested pipework, deep evacuation before charging, tested condensate routes and full commissioning in both heating and cooling. You receive commissioning records, F-Gas documentation, electrical certification where applicable and an operation and maintenance file, plus a handover session so whoever uses the system day to day knows how to run it efficiently.
Afterwards, most customers move onto planned maintenance. For homes that is a straightforward annual visit that keeps the warranty valid and the system efficient. For commercial sites it is a scheduled regime with an asset register, F-Gas leak checks, written reports with photographs and a forward view of components approaching end of life so capital spend can be planned. Contract customers get priority response when something goes wrong, and we aim to attend urgent refrigeration failures the same working day.
Finance provided through IC Maintenance Services Limited for Thistle Climate, so if spreading the cost of an installation would help, ask us when you receive your proposal. Whatever the project, you will be dealing with the same local team from first phone call to fifteenth annual service.
No pressure, no jargon and no surprises once the work begins.
Call us or send an enquiry and we will ask a few practical questions about the building, the rooms you want cooled and how you plan to use the system.
We survey the property, calculate the heat load, agree indoor unit positions and pipe routes, and design a system that suits the building rather than a catalogue.
You receive a clear written proposal covering equipment, works, timescales and warranty, with nothing hidden in the small print.
Our F-Gas registered engineers carry out the work, protect your property as they go and commission the system properly before handover.
We hand over documentation, show you how to run the system efficiently and offer planned maintenance to keep warranties and performance intact.
Based in Fife, working across Edinburgh and the whole of Scotland.
Not sure what your building needs? Talk it through with an engineer, not a salesperson.
We survey the property, calculate the heat load and set out the options in writing.
Planned servicing for single systems and multi-site commercial portfolios.
Homeowners, facilities managers and food businesses in Fife, Edinburgh and beyond.
Still unsure about something? Call us and ask — we would rather answer questions than sell you the wrong system.
We are based in Fife and work extensively across Edinburgh and the Lothians, with engineers travelling throughout Scotland for commercial air conditioning, refrigeration and maintenance contracts.
Yes. We install and service domestic split and multi-split air conditioning, and we look after commercial split systems, VRF and VRV plant, and commercial refrigeration for offices, retail, hospitality and food production sites.
All of our engineers are F-Gas registered and work to current regulations, which is a legal requirement for anyone installing, servicing or decommissioning air conditioning and refrigeration equipment.
We specify equipment to suit the building and budget, working mainly with the established Japanese and European manufacturers whose spares and technical support are reliable in the UK.
A single domestic split system is usually a one-day installation. Multi-split systems typically take two to three days, while commercial projects are programmed around your operating hours, including evening and weekend working where needed.

Yes. Planned preventative maintenance is available for single systems and for multi-site portfolios, including the serviced office operators we already look after such as IWG (Regus) and Clockwise.
Contract customers receive priority response, and we aim to attend urgent commercial refrigeration and air conditioning failures the same working day wherever possible.
Call us for anything urgent, or send the form and we will reply the same working day.
